Coaching

Voice & Presence

Presence first. The voice will follow.

One-on-one coaching to feel at ease when all eyes are on you, and to sound like yourself when it counts: on camera, on stage, in the interview, at the toast.

Voice & Presence12 sessions

Your voice, at ease.

One on one, on Zoom. Weekly or every two weeks. English, French, or both.

Who it's for

If your voice has a job to do

Where it comes from

Almost twenty years of helping people sound like themselves

I've produced more than 300 experts and presenters on camera and on the mic. My own turning point was small: I stopped writing full scripts and switched to bullet notes. It forced me to wing it, make mistakes, and keep going. The show must go on.

That's what I teach. Not a perfect performance, but how to be present, recover from a slip in a split second, and sound like yourself doing it. I trained in voice acting at George Brown College, and I bring that craft, along with breath and presence work, to every session.

How it works

Twelve sessions, three stages

Presence

Sessions 1 to 4. Body, breath, and being seen. We start with a "before" recording, so you can hear the change later.

Voice

Sessions 5 to 8. Projection, clarity, emphasis and range, with the tools voice actors use every day.

Real stage

Sessions 9 to 12. Your own story, a practice run of your big moment, leading on camera, and the "after" recording.

Between sessions

A few minutes a day, sized to your week. Short practices you can do anywhere, even in the car.

Two ways to do it

The full program, or one big moment

The full program

12 sessions

Weekly or every two weeks, on Zoom.

  • All three stages, shaped around you
  • A before and after recording
  • Up to an hour and a half each, prep included

The short version

3 sessions

For one big moment coming up.

  • Where you are, and the moment ahead
  • Your voice, on your actual piece
  • A full rehearsal, like the day itself

Same hourly rate as everything else I do. Billed for actual time, in 15-minute blocks. Nothing up front.

Questions

Common questions

Will I lose my accent?

No, and you don't need to. We work on clarity, so people hear exactly what you mean. Your accent stays yours.

Do I have to act or sing?

No. We borrow tools from voice acting because they work. Singing is there if you want it, never required.

Where do we meet?

On Zoom, in your own room, with the same link every time. In English, French, or both.

Is there homework?

A few minutes a day. Humming in the car is encouraged. Other drivers will understand.
